Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas is a sprawling resort of sand-coloured, Arabian-style buildings on Saadiyat Island's powder-white beach, a few minutes from the Louvre Abu Dhabi. A boardwalk leads from the lagoon pool, with its palm islands and turtle statues, through the dunes to neat rows of loungers and calm, clear water. The beach is Blue Flag certified, and Saadiyat Beach is home to hawksbill turtles.
It's a real family favourite. Kids splash around the turtles in the main pool while parents order a cold drink from The Pool Avenue pool bar. Down on the sand, Nasma Beachfront Bar serves Latin American plates, cocktails and DJ beats, and couples can book a private beach cabana, which is for adults only. Visitors often mention how clean and well looked after the beach is, how attentive the pool and beach staff are, and the occasional dolphin seen close to shore. There are designated quiet areas on the beach if you want a calmer corner.
Come early to get a lounger in the cooler morning hours, or stay for golden hour. The beach closes at sunset and the main pool at 8pm. Day passes start from AED 375 on weekdays with AED 200 to spend on food and drinks, and booking ahead is required.
